THE BIG FOUR: HOT RHYTHM’N’BLUES AND COOL GROOVES

What? The Big Four?
That’s right, The Big Four. It’s hot rhythm’n’blues, cool jazz-grooves and
steamin’ rock’n’roll that’ll knock you out of your socks.

Who are they?
A couple of cats from Belgium and Holland who you might have seen with a 
shipload of former bands like The Harmony Two Tones, The Jitterbugs, Texan
Tail, The Wild Specialties, Tee, Blues Jungle, Blues Lee and so on. 
They also
played with great musicians like James Harman, Al Copley (Roomful of Blues),
Billy Lee Riley, Otis Grand, Eddie C. Campbell and so on. 
This is the line-up:
J.B. Biesmans on Saxophone & Lead vocals
Mo Gomez on the Guitar
B.J. Janssen on Organ, Piano & Vocals
Bird Stevens at Double Bass & Vocals
Franky Gomez at the Drums

And what do they sound like?
Hard to say, but imagine a jukebox playing Sam Butera, Illinois Jaqcuet, Gene
Krupa, Louis Prima, Willis ‘Gator’ Jackson, Jack McDuff, Bill Doggett, Ray
Charles, Kenny Burrell and Plas Johnson. That’s the idea.
Is there anybody who still wants to listen to that kind of stuff?
Oh absolutely!! Since they started of in 2000, they played the big stages across
Europe like the Belgium Rhythm’n’Blues Festival in Peer, Belgium, the
Rock’n’Roll Jamboree in Senigallia, Italy, the Jazz Rally of Düsseldorf, Germany,
the Breda Jazz Festival in Holland and in 2007 the Rhythm Riot, the most
important festival in this genre in the U.K.. Also very special was to play a show
for 15.000 people and the King of Belgium at the Atomium in Brussels….
Anywhere they play it’s a party, so there’s something to look out for!

Why should I be interested in this band?
Well, that’s up to you. Maybe you want to dance your pants off, maybe you’ll
just enjoy the great quality of the musicians, perhaps you are interested in an
almost forgotten part of the musical heritage of the forties and fifties or even
you’re sole interest is just to watch some good looking guys…

2003 record is currently out of stock (will be re-released) and in 2007 a brand
new CD will be recorded.
